Second handle to break
We bought the Miele side by side fridge pair back in 2010. We had nothing but issues with the pair, and it was replaced twice, in 2013 and 2014. The third set still has problems with the ice machine that is ongoing. The handle broke and it was so expensive to replace we made do without replacing. Now the 2nd handle broke, so I have had no choice but to purchase the part to replace. It is over $200 for the part. I don't understand how such an expensive machine to purchase keeps costing so much in repair and replacement.

Design flaw!!!! Handle broken just over 2 years
I though products of Miele is top tier in the market, wasn't expecting the freezer handle broke in half just over 2 years of use, very disappointed!!! funny enough it is the first fridge handle broke on me ever, and it is Miele. And found the replacement part gonna cost $217??? By looking reviews online regarding this product, clearly there is a design flaw, should be replaced for free. If I can rate 0 star I will!

Miele fridge handle replacement
Very happy with delivery of handle. It was easy for me to fix but I would note that I didn’t notice any instructions on what driver bit was required ( it is a special bit that not everyone would have) - others may find that frustrating. You tube saved the day on that one. I would of course have been happier if it was a bit cheaper since I feel it is a design flaw in the original handle ( not strong enough) - the new handle is stronger, which looks a bit different when you’ve got another one on the freezer next to it. Maybe it would be good to tell the consumers that it is fractionally different before sending it.

Poor design and quality for premium price.
Quality that's built to last? Miele's marketing slogan might require some refinement to reflect the poor quality and design of the fridge and freezer handles which both have broken. We have installed 11 Miele kitchen and laundry appliances in our home, next house we consider alternatives due to 10's of thousands spent.

Add me to the list people that had their money flushed down the toilet. Our handles also broke off and now realising the part costs $217! Long list of issues with Miele. Had issues with their fan exhaust, gas stove top, and this fridge. Never again.

Buy a fridge without handles ....
In my opinion, there is a fundamental design fault, which Miele does not want to know about, with this handle. It broke after 8 years of less than normal use (there are only 2 people in the household). This is a part of a very expensive fridge, so I did not expect it to break suddenly and customer care from Miele was extremely poor to say the least. If you are considering buying one of these fridges with handles, I say do not.

Design fault
I bought both Miele Fridge and Freezer for a total of $4,998 4 years ago. You would expect it to work without problem for at least 10 years!! Never have I heard of anyone's handle coming off in their hand until I googled a replacement for my Miele fridge handle. Surely the least Miele could do is supply the part free of charge or provide a tech to come and install to show some positive brand interaction? There is no alternative to reinstall an obviously flawed part and the cost for it given it is plastic is insane. No issues at all with the lovely people on the phone at the call centre but come on Miele if you have multiple people complaining about the same thing its time to take responsibility.

Door Fridge Handle
We bought this fridge at great expense. We saved especially for it and although the fridge has been great the door handles have been nothing but trouble. I think we are onto door handle number 4 or 5 they are crap and over priced!!! We could have bought half a new fridge in any other brand. This time it is the mechanism inside and the slider and instead of being able to replace this we have to buy a new handle - Terrible service Miele.
