I was a little disappointed that it came with both components when all I really needed was a replacement filter.

Grossly overpriced spare part. Can’t see why Miele make you buy the housing & filter when I’d say most people would only require the paper filter

Unnecessary cost and waste
The part works fine...the cost though is outrageous...you should be able to purchase just the required replacement filter and not be expected to purchase the whole housing unit as well. Completely unnecessary and a total waste of product not required. The cost and waste is unacceptable Miele. You can and should do better.
